Felipe is a licensed architect with over 20 years of experience. Currently, he is a sole practitioner working on various commercial, retail mixed-use and residential projects.
Felipe excels in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office. He is a dynamic and creative individual. At Onyx Creative, he worked as Project Manager and Architect. Responsible for the creation of project designs and plans for all phases of projects. Coordinated work of building design consultants while monitoring drawings throughout the process. Initiated and created project designs and plans of all phases of multiple projects. Prepared presentation and design drawings. Acted as an internal and external ambassador for the firm.
Primary responsibilities were as follows. Attended and presented at design review, city council, planning commission and community meetings. Organized and developed scope of entitlements projects. Coordinated with agencies, municipalities and consultant team. Coordinated project staffing with the VP of Operations. Planned, organized, and managed the architectural design for the most complex projects. Prepared the project scope and fee proposals and ensure project number was assigned, contract was signed, and consultants’ proposals were signed. Complete the project design and design deliverables within budgeted hours and schedule. Verify project status and identify any issues related to expended time vs. budgeted hours or potential problems. Promptly addressed and issued all change of service requests from staff and consultants.
As a Senior Job Captain at Ware Malcomb, he was a highly motivated project coordinator and problem solver who assisted in the management of multiple architectural projects. He led the coordination and quality assurance of documents required to complete a project, consultant coordination and the coordination of internal resources. He worked on a national retail account coordinating their projects through all phases and managing the client’s standards. He has also worked on multiple commercial renovations and ground-ups.
Previously at FRCH, he had worked on various corporate and automotive dealership renovations. Prior to FRCH, he was at OSI Architecture in California and Bignell, Watkins, Hasser Architects in Virginia, contributing to various ground-up retail mixed-use projects of diverse sizes along the eastern US. Involvement has been in most aspects of architecture: schematic design, presentations, design development, construction documents, specifications, construction administration, project management and coordination.
Valuable experience was also gained at The Infrastructure Finance Authority, a government agency in Puerto Rico that manages federal funds for The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. There, he worked as a Technical Coordinator within the Weatherization Program and coordinated bidding, management and construction of various government projects.
Earning a Master of Architecture from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC in 2006 and becoming a LEED AP BD+C certified professional in 2009, he achieved his goal of becoming a licensed architect in Puerto Rico in 2017 and in 2020 for both California and Florida.
